Pique Tea Crystals Green Tea“If you are cold, tea will warm you;
if you are too heated, it will cool you;
If you are depressed, it will cheer you;
If you are excited, it will calm you.”
― William Ewart Gladstone

Did you know that tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world, after water? It’s a truly miraculous drink that comes in many forms and flavors and, just like acai bowls, can be indulged in many different ways. While matcha has become the official cool hipster drink in the past year, regular tea is getting a momentum too thanks to Pique Tea. [Keep reading for a discount code!]

Considering my love for crystal healing and the fact that I’m the biggest tea drinker you’ll ever meet (I carry an assortment of teas in my makeup bag at all times), can you imagine my excitement when I found out about drinkable tea crystals?

Basically tea crystals is like outsourcing steeping of your tea (Tim Ferris would approve). Here’s how it works.

Imagine that someone sources, picks and brews the most high quality loose leaf tea for you, then turns it into crystals. The brewing process happens under the supervision of tea ceremony experts (the right temperature, the right water, the right timing – it’s all about timing!), and flavor and antioxidants are preserved.

The result are single serving tea crystal sachets that have 2X the antioxidants of tea bags and more nutrients than matcha. They dissolve instantly in hot or cold water and are organic, sugar free, and preservative free.

Sounds like something from a sci-fi movie, but it’s true.Pique Tea Crystals Green Tea

I’m all about tea ceremony, but let’s be real – a lot of times you don’t have time or the equipment for a proper tea ceremony. I’ve found the Tea Crystals especially handy when I’m on the go – at meetings, on the plane, anywhere where you can find filtered water, really. It’s healthy, tasty and convenient.
I’ve been test driving several Pique Tea flavors, and while I love all of them (it’s brought back my childhood love of Earl Grey served with milk!), Jasmine and Sencha Green Tea are my favorites. To me, Jasmine is generally the best green tea (outside of matcha, of course).

While it’s delicious as is – hot or iced – in the traditional Breakfast Criminals fashion, I’ve experimented with superfoods to share these Green Tea Smoothie and a simple Iced Jasmin Tea Latte recipes with you. You’ll be a little more excited to get out of bed, that I promise.

Though drinking all of the different types of tea is considered to be beneficial to one’s health, it is green tea that has the best reputation as a superfood. Here we go!

What’s that in my tea? Thiacloprid, Acetamaprid, chlorpyrifos . . . the list goes on. If you aren’t familiar with these “ingredients,” you might be surprised that these carcinogens are among dozens of other pesticides, herbicides, and toxins that are in many popular tea brands.
