We are always looking for fun ways to mix up a batch of healthy, paleo, gluten-free pancakes. Just when we felt like we’d seen every option out there, we discovered this recipe by Sappho Hatzis!

Charcoal pancakes might seem a little out there, but there’s a reason activated charcoal has become one of the biggest health trends. It’s amazing for detoxing, and it also aids in digestion. Black sesame adds another amazing element to this recipe (sesame has more calcium than milk!)

We recommend taking a cue from Saphho and topping with mango or papaya, banana slices, pomegranate seeds, and orange clove infused honey syrup. Or try our super simple Raspberry Vanilla Bean Chia Seed Jam recipe.
