You guys probably already know of the Raw Buckwheat Porridge recipe I got from The Raw Food Sisters. It’s a super easy to make, sprouted breakfast that’s full of superfoods and leaves you feeling satisfied for hours. This time, I decided to take it one step further by mixing in some mango and Pitaya, and playing with layering. Here’s the result!

Dragonfruit Buckwheat Layered Smoothie Jars | Breakfast Criminals

Ingredients (serves 2-3 people, depending on the size of your jars):

  • 1/2 cup buckwheat groats, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 mango
  • 1 dragonfruit smoothie pack
  • 2 dates
  • 1 tbsp maca powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk

Blend everything together on high speed until creamy, then pour half of the mixture into a glass, and leave the rest in the blender. Add a Pitaya smoothie pack,  mango, and blend again. If you want a rainbow of colors, pour both smoothies together into a jar at the same time, and if you’re more patient than me and would like to achieve the perfect layers, pour it into the jar layer by layer, putting the jar into the freezer after each layer to set.

Topped with:

  • Goji berries
  • Banana
  • Mango
  • Strawberry
