This post is sponsored by Zappos. They sent me a set of Brooks gear and the Levitate Limited Edition shoes to test and incorporate into my busy life (they’re extremely comfortable!). The funny thing is that I found out about Brooks from a classmate back in Moscow, Russia when I was 13.

She showed up wearing a pair of brand new shoes,  and introduced them to me as “the best running shoe in the world“. Back then, I was a teenager who didn’t feel like she fits in, and certainly didn’t have the money to buy the best running shoes in the world. For me, this partnership is very affirming and synchronistic and I’m grateful to both you, the reader, and Zappos for supporting my work! If you’re not yet a Zappos fan – check them out. I got to experience their outstanding customer service when the leggings that I got didn’t fit, and my replacement arrived the next day.

You follow them on Instagram. You double tap photos of their mouth-watering avocado meals, frothy matcha lattes and crystals-filled self-care Sundays. You know what they had for breakfast, who they hang out with, and every brand in their pantry.

You know exactly who I’m talking about… those few (or a few dozens) wellness bloggers that inspire you to put a little more thought into how you live your life – from food to working out, meditating and getting plants and crystals for your home.

From the outside, it may seem that a wellness blogger’s life is hashtag blessed all day, every day.

But what’s a day in a life of a healthy living blogger really like?

In this post, I’ll share exactly that. Disclaimer: there’s isn’t really such a thing as a “typical” day in life of a blogger – it all depends on the projects I’m currently working on. Over the years of building my business and streamlining my processes, I’ve found a daily flow that supports me the most as a self-employed creative and consultant. Here’s your peek into it!

Whether you’re a new reader or have been with us for a while, welcome!  My name is Ksenia, I’m the founder of Breakfast Criminals, a media platform that positively disrupts your mornings. At the core of Breakfast Criminals is the idea of starting every day with self-love – whether that’s making a superfood breakfast, taking a moment to breathe, or going for a run in the park. The inspiration behind Breakfast Criminals was a broken heart, but that’s another story.

So here it is, a day in life of a wellness blogger!

8.00AM

The first thing I do when I get up is get half a teaspoon of coconut oil in my mouth and start oil pulling. This ancient Ayurvedic practice has a ton of both functional and aesthetic benefits, from killing bad breath, to boosting immune system and whitening teeth. I do that for about 5-10 minutes.

In the meantime, I boil water to make my warm lemon elixir and get dressed. They say that getting dressed up, even when you work from home, increases your productivity. I’ve tried it and have to disagree… nothing boosts my productivity like comfortable and energized wearing athletic gear! The feeling of freedom it gives me inspires me to take more movement breaks during the day, and keeps me workout-ready for those times when I book a last-minute ClassPass (who else does this?)

Plus, workout clothes can look so chic nowadays, that I often end up wearing it from class to meetings. I seriously love the Brooks mesh crop pants – they look great both with a workout top (I love the textured Fly By Hoodie!), and with a cute sweater and coat.

8.10-8:45AM

Miracle morning routine time! I believe that how you start your day is how you live your life, and for me those first waking moments are the time to get grounded, set my intentions and re-connect to what’s important. My miracle morning routine usually consists of:

  • A 10-minute meditation
  • 5 minutes of journaling
  • 2 minutes of saying affirmations out loud
  • 3 minutes of reading
  • 5 minutes of visualization
  • 5 minutes of movement (jumping jacks or dancing to my favorite song)

8:45-9.00AM

One of my favorite parts of the day is making my supercharged morning latte! I change it up based on how I’m feeling, but my go-tos are butter coffee, collagen matcha latte and dandelion latte.

My favorite breakfast recipe right now is power parfait. Often I will have a friend or a business partner over for a power morning meeting.

9:00-12:00PM

The first thing I do when I sit down at my desk is make a list of the most important things I committed to achieving that day. Note: I don’t check my social media or my emails until I do that! Before I let in the outside world, I make it a priority to get clear on what I want to create.

In the first few hours of work, I usually respond to comments on Instagram (community is everything!) and take care of time-sensitive emails.

12:00-1:30pm

Get outside! I love breaking up my workday by taking a lunch break and going outside. Talking a walk or a run outside helps me clear my head and stay productive.

Sometimes this means going to my favorite Sweetgreen or Stonefruit Espresso to pick up lunch (and my favorite tahini cookie), and sometimes it means going for a run outside followed by a lunch meeting over unicorn and amethyst lattes (and taking a few photos, of course).

One the weekends, you’ll find me doing healthy potlucks with my foodie friends, like the #goddessbrunch.

Collaborating with like-minded creators and bloggers is one of the keys of the success of Breakfast Criminals, which you may already know from our weekly Wednesday morning routine takeovers on Instagram!

2:00-6:00pm

Back at my desk. Time to take care of paperwork, plan, write and edit content, and catch up on my game plan for the quarter to make sure I’m on track and taking daily steps to achieve my goals and elevate my business and life.

6:00-8:00pm

On evenings when I’m not working until late editing YouTube videos (real life alert: setting boundaries with work is still something I’m working on), you can find me either cooking dinner, attending an event or personal growth workshop, or in a hot yoga class at Modo Yoga or Sacred Brooklyn.

8:00-9:00pm

Dinner time with my boyfriend. During mealtime, we share the highlights of our days and often end up brainstorming our next projects. Right now we’re all about crystal grids with @crystalcriminals.

9:00-11:30

Email curfew! This is the time when I take a bath and read, watch Planet Earth documentary (current obsession).

11:30-12:00

Reading (currently it’s Wayne Dyer’s “Wishes Fulfilled”) and bedtime.

Thank you for reading about my day as a wellness blogger!
