Acai Bowl Recipe with lucuma

As you may already know, Breakfast Criminals started with an açaí bowl in Haleiwa, Hawaii. I have probably created and shared with you more açaí bowl recipes than any other breakfasts!

Before we move on, açaí is pronounced ah-sigh-EE. Not ahhh-sigh-e, and positively not ah-ka-ee.

I’ve written about the benefits of açaí before, and if you haven’t seen my video from the açaí rainforest in Brazil, it’s time to catch up. I’ve also shared 14 best açaí bowl recipes.

What I love about making açaí bowls is the endless variations you can come up with depending on what’s available. On one hectic morning before flying out to Paris, I whipped up an all-new açaí bowl recipe with avocado, fresh mango, one of my favorite superfoods lucuma, and Paleonola, grain free granola I’ve been obsessed with. Enjoy!

Berry Lucuma Acai Bowl Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen açaí smoothie pack (I use Tambor Acai)
  • 1 cup mixed fresh or frozen berries
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 avocado
  • Handful of mango
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 tsp lucuma powder (a natural superfood sweetener from Peru with an impeccable flavor and abundance of minerals such as calcium, magnesium and iron).

Toppings:

Paleonola grain free granola, handful mango, handful blueberries, handful raspberries.

Directions:

Blend all ingredients together (I recommend loading your blender in this sequence for optimal texture: liquids, non-frozen solids and powders, then frozen ingredients). Top with your favorite superfoods, fresh berries and a sprinkle of kindness.
